Our brilliant Sherwood Seedbank volunteers have been hard at work sowing seeds, potting on wildflowers, and keeping everything watered during the dry spell. Their help keeps the nursery going and brings the community together through hands-on conservation. It’s real teamwork, and the plants are thriving because of it!
A huge thank you to Mansfield Building Society (pictured), who helped us plant 500 wildflowers around the nursery. It’s a lovely boost for bees and butterflies and makes the site even more welcoming for wildlife. A great example of local businesses getting stuck in and making a real difference for nature.
Our Community Tree Nursery Officer, Izzy, visited Asquith Primary School twice to sow tree seeds with their Eco Group — a lovely bunch who’ve created some brilliant habitats for local wildlife. It’s great to see young people so engaged in nature, learning where trees come from and why they matter to Sherwood.
We donated 250 saplings to Bestwood Village, encouraging locals to plant them in their gardens. It’s a small step with a big impact — helping to connect local woodlands, support wildlife, and bring nature closer to home. Every tree planted helps Sherwood’s ancient landscape come back to life!
