Why Support The Sherwood Forest Trust?
We’re a small Nottinghamshire charity, independent of any political or commercial links. We’re not part of any larger national charity.
We are the only charity 100% focussed on Sherwood Forest – not just the present day Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve, but the wider landscape that once formed the Royal hunting forest of Sherwood.
We help conserve and improve neglected fragments of heathland and woodland scattered throughout this area.
We promote and celebrate the heritage and legend that connects and inspires its modern communities.

Give a little each month or send a ‘one off’ gift. Make a donation in memory of a forest-loving friend, or leave us a legacy in your will.
You can even donate Nectar points! You’ll need to link your Nectar card to your Crowdfunder account. Then just visit our Crowdfunder page and when you get to the ‘Payment Method’ screen, click ‘Donate with Nectar.’
Each and every donation helps our work – planting trees, helping local volunteers to conserve heathland and green spaces, or organising event to showcase woodland crafts and Sherwood Forest history.

Whether it’s a simple tree-plant with a local school or a programme to teach unemployed youngsters landscape management skills, creating an acorn nursery or sponsoring a woodland festival, we’ll find the right project for your company’s aspirations.

Local business or company? Sponsor our work and help fund projects in Nottinghamshire and North East Derbyshire for both people and nature. What’s in it for you? Excellent PR and photo opportunities, plus staff team-building opportunities. Working together outdoors is great for team morale.
Help us plant trees. Extra pairs of hands are often needed during the autumn and winter planting season. You’ll need average fitness, and ideally organise your own transport to the woodlands where we’re working.
Volunteer for one of our in our history, archaeology and heritage projects. Enjoy woodcrafts, putting up marquees or meeting people at outdoor events? We may have just the volunteer role for you.
Join one of the local Friends Groups we support, such as the Friends of Oaktree Heath. Roll up your sleeves, get active and make new friends.
Corporate work parties of up to 15 especially welcome – your company covers our costs, and we provide all tools, supervision and instruction.
We can occasionally also organise planting sessions in memory of loved ones. A donation (from £200 upwards) helps cover our staff time and costs.
