Say hello to some of our staff and volunteers, pictured here at the Major Oak Woodland Festival in June, in front of our new outdoor exhibition stand.
We had a great time talking to the public and interacting with visitors to the ancient heart of Sherwood Forest – actually called Birklands and Bilhaugh. Today the area – a mixture of oak and birch woodland and open heathland – is cared for by the RSPB, who also run the nearby Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre.
We invited local craftspeople, storytellers, environmental artists and musicians to help us celebrate trees and woodland in the leafy glades of Robin Hood’s old haunts.
A great weekend was had by all!
