Colin Bower runs a family farm in Rufford, where he grows crops alongside hedgerows, scrub and woodland carefully managed for wildlife. He also chairs the Guardians of Sherwood Facilitation Fund, bringing together more than 70 farms across Nottinghamshire to work together on conservation. Colin is particularly excited about habitat restoration and connecting the farming community with Sherwood’s natural heritage.
Dawn Spence is a Parish Councillor and volunteer from Newark-on-Trent. She has worked in healthcare, counselling and community projects, helping people connect with nature through gardening, tree planting and outdoor activities. Dawn is passionate about showing how green spaces can improve wellbeing while supporting wildlife.
Both Colin and Dawn share our vision for a wilder, more connected Sherwood. We’re excited to have them on board and can’t wait to see the ideas and enthusiasm they’ll bring to the Trust!
