We’re proud to be supporting 30 Days Wild — The Wildlife Trusts’ nature challenge that encourages everyone to do one wild thing a day. Whether it’s birdwatching with your morning brew, planting bee-friendly flowers, or simply cloud-spotting on your lunch break, it’s all about finding moments to connect with nature.
Why does it matter? Taking time for the natural world not only boosts our wellbeing, but also helps build a lifelong love and respect for our environment — something we’re passionate about here at the Sherwood Forest Trust.
We’re lucky to live and work in a landscape steeped in ancient woodland, rich wildlife, and local legends. Through our projects — from restoring and maintaining precious local heathland habitats, to community tree planting and native seed collecting, our projects help keep Sherwood wild and thriving for future generations.
Whilst on a site visit, Graeme and Erin were lucky enough to see a large slow worm just before it got too warm! Slow worms prefer dense ground cover and can often be spotted in your garden and they are great for natural pest control, feasting on slugs and other insects!
Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to see our wild ideas to help inspire you. Fancy getting more hands-on? Volunteer with us or join one of our local events!
Let’s go wild together — and keep the spirit of Sherwood alive all year round!
