Role: Landscape scale conservation, heritage projects, managing 2 nature reserves, coordination of tree planting, advice for landowners, working with schools and community groups, managing the office IT, and appearing at events in the role of Friar Tuck (- really ha ha!)

Past experience: an MSc in conservation management led to roles with grassroots charities including BTCV and Groundwork. Mercian Archaeological Services, run as a Community Interest Company, is an independent research company providing archaeological services and advice. We specialise in community archaeology, public involvement and training.

Our Sherwood Forest office is at Ransom Wood Business Park near Mansfield.

We have a longstanding interest in the Sherwood Forest area and run the Sherwood Forest Research Project. We have worked productively with numerous local groups, for example the Battle of Hatfield Investigation Society and the Friends of Thynghowe, and led community archaeology projects for the Sherwood Forest Trust such as the ‘Discover King John’s Palace’ project at Kings Clipstone. We are currently helping deliver the Trust’s ‘Spirit of Wartime Sherwood’ project, investigating WW2 remains in the Forest.
