Job Title: Chief Executive
Role: Managing the team. Strategic and partnership work. Corporate and business sponsorship.
Past experience: From a farming family. Holds a PhD in Children’s Play. Managed Leisure Services for Leicestershire, and later the Nottinghamshire Country Parks Service. Helps run a community woodland (The Spinney, Bythams Woodland Trust) and chairs the heritage-based Newstead Abbey Partnership.
I’m passionate about…Working with partner organisations and stakeholders all over the Sherwood Forest area. Partnership helps stitch back together a fragmented landscape.

Job Title: Finance Officer
Role with the Trust: Accounts, financial management, budgeting and costing. Managing general administration and H.R. for the Trust.
Past Experience: Holds a B.A. from Nottingham Trent University in Business Studies, qualified Accounting Technician (M.A.A.T). Many years of experience in finance and administration roles and has been with the Trust since 2003. Member of the Local Access Forum for Nottinghamshire, representing equestrian interests. Has been County Bridleways Officer for the British Horse Society
I’m passionate about… access for all, conservation and wildlife. Finding ways for everyone to enjoy and respect the countryside by being involved to make a positive difference to our environment. Local history, especially relating to family history and the social history our forebears lived through.

Job Title: Community Engagement & Education Officer, ‘Spirit of Wartime Sherwood Forest’ project
Role with the Trust: Co-ordinating a National Lottery Heritage Fund funded project on Sherwood Forest in WW2.
Past Experience: Studied archaeology at Leicester and Stafforshire Universities. Former Heritage & Learning Manager for Sir John Moore Foundation. Ran Janus Learning, a Community Interest Company.
I’m passionate about: Using archaeology and heritage to engage learners who are excluded from mainstream education.

Job Title: Conservation Manager
Role: Leading on the Sherwood Forest Truths project including heathland restoration, tree planting, raising awareness of non- accidental fires, and working with partnership organisations to protect the habitats of Sherwood Forest for the future.
Past Experience: Worked for the last 9 years as Countryside Ranger for Newark and Sherwood District Council based at Vicar Water Country Park.
I’m passionate about: wildlife, nature, conservation, gardening, walking ….and Stoke City FC!

Role: To support the strategic design and delivery of heathland and woodland landscape, conservation and tree planting projects
Past Experience: Worked at the Woodland Trust, and most recently worked in woodland creation support and monitoring on a self-employed basis.
I’m passionate about… Planting trees and helping to make our environment healthier and more sustainable for future generations.

Job Title: Community Conservation Officer
Role with the Trust: Leading and delivering various woodland creation and heathland restoration projects across the Sherwood Forest landscape, involving members of the community with tree planting, habitat management work, and wildlife walks & talks. Organises the Trust’s annual woodland festival.
Past experience: Holds a BSc in Zoology from the University of Leicester and an MSc in Wildlife Conservation & Drone Applications from LJMU. Worked in various countries on conservation and science research projects, including Thailand, Honduras, Cambodia and St Vincent & the Grenadines; and also worked as an ecological consultant back in the UK. Works part-time alongside role with the Trust as Senior Conservation Ranger at Center Parcs Sherwood Forest.

Job Title: Communications & Marketing Officer (Part-time)
Role: Marketing, events and project work. Assisting with the Sherwood Forest Trust Woodland Festival, creating marketing materials, website and social media management.
Past Experience: 6 years of restaurant management in the heart of Edwinstowe, 2 years designing and marketing with a local bespoke estate agent. BSc in Psychology.
I’m passionate about… Art, working with (and for) the community, and conservation of our beautiful habitats and wildlife sites!

Role: Community Woodland Creation Officer.
Past Experience: I live locally in Southwell and worked for Newark and Sherwood District Council for nearly 30 years in roles including communications, arts development, community engagement and environmental services. I keep busy with volunteering roles too helping in local schools, with environmental groups, scouts, gardening groups and local charities. I’m training to be a Forest School Leader.
I’m passionate about: …all things environmental and I have a deep love of nature and wildlife. I fully admit to talking to trees and I’m a very keen recycler! I love gardening and I’m most happy pottering on my allotment or spending time outdoors with my family.

Job Title: Community Conservation Officer
Role with the Trust: Hi! My name is Katie and I help to run volunteer sessions to conserve and restore heathland and woodland within the Sherwood Forest area. Since leaving school I have worked in the Health and Social Care sector for around 10 years. At the age of 29 I decided to have a career change and went back into education to study Animal Management. I graduated from NTU Brackenhurst Campus with a BSc in Wildlife Conservation last year.
I’m passionate about: Nature, wildlife, habitat management and creation, conservation and enjoying a nice cuppa!
