Miner2Major is a five-year Landscape Partnership Scheme supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

It focuses on the heart of the Sherwood Forest, an area that has a distinctive landscape character which is recognised and valued by local people as well as visitors from around the world.

Sherwood is an ancient forest, with a complex and fascinating history to match. It has evolved and changed to match the needs of the communities that live and work here

From the traditional refuge of the outlaw Robin Hood and his merry men, to the backdrop to the dissolution of the monasteries and the creation of sprawling ducal estates, Sherwood Forest is full of rich history throughout the ages.

The Sherwood Forest Trust is working with Miner2Major to deliver 10 projects across Nottinghamshire, to engage with local communities to celebrate Sherwood’s important habitats, species, and rich heritage.
