The Major Oak Woodland Festival – 8th & 9th June 2019

Celebrating all things woody!  Stroll the leafy paths of Sherwood Forest Country Park, find out about traditional woodland crafts.  Learn how this former Royal hunting forest is managed today.

See craftspeople from toy makers to willow weavers.  Watch demonstrations.  Try your own hand at some age-old forest skills.

Meet bodgers, Windsor chair makers, charcoal producers, wood turners, knife smiths, furniture makers, archaeologists, conservation organisations, ‘Friends of’ Groups and nature charities.  Visit the mighty Major Oak, and find out how the country park rangers manage the former Royal Hunting Forest of Sherwood today in the 21st century.

Whether you’re a woodworking enthusiast, love local crafts, or just want a fun family outing, join us under the ancient oaks for a great weekend.

The Robin Hood Festival – 5th to 11th 2019

Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre, Forest Corner, Swinecote Lane, Edwinstowe, NG21 9HN.

Daily from 10.30 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Free admission. £5 car parking.

For over 30 years this favourite family event has been entertaining visitors to Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre.  Skirmishing, costumed characters, and medieval themed activities ranging from historical re-enactment to slapstick comedy, from music of the Middle Ages to family trails and craft demonstrations – all within the authentic leafy setting of Robin Hood’s legendary Sherwood Forest.  This year the Festival will be based at the NEW Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre, due to open in August 2018.
