What’s Your Style?

Woodland Lodges & Cabins

Forest Holidays

Looking for a resort type experience, with on site dining, swimming, boating, and leisure facilities?  Center Parcs, Sherwood Forest may be just up your street.  Love the freedom and style of woodland cabins but prefer a quieter ambiance?  Forest Holidays at Sherwood Pines Forest Park could be for you.

You might choose a luxury lodge near ancient oak woodland at The Sherwood Hideaway.  Rent a North American style woodland cabin at Redbrick Woodland Lodges.  Or enjoy cabins in the woods just a stone’s throw from Rufford Abbey Country Park at Sherwood Castle Holiday Forest.

Camping & Caravanning

Bring your own tent or caravan and enjoy the fresh air and freedom of Robin Hood country, in family friendly sites such as Sherwood Forest Holiday Park, or Robin Hood Retreat Caravan Park.  Camp, or glamp in a Romany type caravan at secluded Little Oak Camping near Retford.

On A Budget?

The YHA runs a lively and popular youth hostel in Edwinstowe – a mere stroll from the famous Major Oak, and close to the site of the soon to be opened new Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre currently being built by the RSPB.

Thoresby Hall Hotel

Choose from value rooms in nearby towns to grownups-only luxury in the former Dukeries mansion of Thoresby Hall.

The Travelodge chain has family hotels at Mansfield, Nottingham, Newark, Retford and Worksop – all within easy reach of Sherwood Forest.

Opt for value rooms in village hostelries – like the Forest Lodge Hotel, the Dukeries Lodge in Edwinstowe, or the Hop Pole Hotel in Ollerton.

Travelling for business?  Need easy access into Robin Hood’s city of Nottingham?  Stay in Gothic Victorian Bestwood Lodge Hotel – once within a Sherwood deer park. Or perhaps a modern boutique venue such as Mour Hotel suits your style.

Farm & Equestrian

Get to the green heart of Robin Hood country with a farm stay.

Or enjoy a ‘horse holiday’ in Sherwood Forest.  There’s accommodation for horse-loving tourists from camping at Kirkfields Equestrian Centre to a shepherd’s hut or “Robin’s Den” log cabin at Fairview Farm.

Browns B&B, Holbeck

Want country walks straight from your doorstep? Chose from traditional hotels in leafy spots – such as the Clumber Park Hotel – to rooms and suites within small and cosy country inns, such as the pretty Dovecote Inn in the sleepy redbrick and pantile village of Laxton.

There’s a wealth of choice.  Be pampered in a traditional award winning country B&B near picturesque Creswell Crags, honeymoon in a swish country barn conversion with deluxe brunch served to your room, or stay in a Victorian gardener’s cottage in the grounds of Newstead Abbey
