Tree-mendous Help 2020

Ian and Linda of the Sherwood Forest Trust with volunteers from Mansfield Building Society

Tree planting’s a priority for the Sherwood Forest Trust.

Over the winter season our small local charity is out and about planting trees with the help of schools, community groups and local companies who care about their local environment.

This March we were asked to plant trees in an former conifer plantation at wonderful Portland College near Mansfield.

The college – which helps young disabled people increase their independence and employability – have just created an exciting new Woodland Adventure Zone. Check it out. It’s awesome!

With the help of generous donations from Mansfield Building Society and Timberland, Nottingham, and aided by their ace squads of staff volunteers, we were able to plant over 600 saplings . We planted oaks, hollies, hawthornes, wild plum and the Wild Service Tree amongst others, enriching the biodiversity of this site, deep in ancient Sherwood Forest. Sponsorship from these caring local companies made this possible. Thank you!

Interested in corporate sponsorship to plant trees? We’re a small local charity. Without funds to purchase of tools, saplings, transport and most of all staff time, we couldn’t carry out this important work. Help the planet while helping your staff bond as a team.
