Countryside Code

• Enjoy the countryside and respect its life and work
• Guard against all risks of fire
• Fasten all gates
• Keep your dogs under close control
• Keep to public footpaths across farmland
• Use gates and stiles to cross fences, hedges and walls
• Leave livestock, crops and machinery alone
• Take your litter home
• Help to keep all water clean
• Protect wildlife, plants and trees
• Take special care on country roads
• Make no unnecessary noise

Be a green man

We can all be ‘green’ men and women, co-existing with nature and preserving our precious lands for future generations by supporting the need to balance our access and enjoyment with the interests of our wildlife and their habitats and following the Countryside Code – Leave nothing but footprints, Take nothing but photographs.

Please respect any notices restricting access to some areas of our public visitor parks – they may be there to protect a particularly sensitive area or protect you if work is being carried out.
