The Major Oak Woodland Festival is a firm favourite in the Sherwood Forest calendar.
This family friendly event melds the mystery of Sherwood’s past with modern woodcraft and forest skills, with lots ‘have a go’ activities, plus fun stuff for the kids. And it all happens outdoors in the leafy glades of Robin Hood’s legendary home.
Organised by Sherwood Forest Trust and the RSPB, the festival brings together craftspeople, exhibitors and demonstrators – all ‘locally sourced’.
If you’re an enthusiast or woodworker, take advantage of helpful tips and advice, chat and share knowledge. If you know nothing at all about green woodworking – come and find out!
Meet bodgers, Windsor chair makers, wood colliers, wood turners, knife smiths, wooden toy and furniture makers, archaeologists, conservation organisations and more.
This event is outdoors, but pushchair and wheelchair friendly. Dogs welcome (but must be on a lead.)
Spread the word, so the all may flock to this celebration of the finest heritage woodland in the world!
