Mercian Archaeology are delighted to invite you to join them on the first “Robin Hood Express” Sherwood Forest Bus Tour!
They are running their first tour on Thursday 21st August 2014.
The tour will stop at Rufford Abbey, Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve (home of the World famous Major Oak), King John’s Palace, and Newstead Abbey. You will also learn about local heritage, history and archaeology as you pass through this landscape of legends… on board a vintage RouteMaster London bus!
Renowned expert Archaeologists from Mercian Archaeological Services CIC’s Sherwood Forest Archaeology Project have come together with local Historian, Archaeologist and Specialist Peter Hammond , and Blackmore Commercials Ltd . To provide this fantastic heritage tour of legendary Sherwood Forest.
The tour combines unrivaled local knowledge of historic Sherwood Forest with an opportunity to ride on board a vintage RouteMaster bus.
