Edwinstowe Business Forum

A supporting role

Our Project Co-ordinator, Julie Rushby is currently Chair of Edwinstowe Business Forum and has the full support of The SFT in helping businesses throughout the village to develop their Totally Locally scheme.

The group meets bi-monthly (first Tuesday of the month) and is always happy to receive new members.

In March the forum held the first of its profile raising Five-Five-Five events.  For five days members were offering either £5 deals or 5% discounts on services.  This event was supported by Newark & Sherwood District Council’s Economic Growth team who are keen to seem similar schemes developed across the district.

Details of the event were promoted via the ‘Edwinstowe Totally Locally’, Facebook page.

Latest news…

In response to both locally residents and High Street businesses, the forum lobbied Nottinghamshire County Council to increase the parking restriction from 30minutes to 1hour.  They have been successful with their request and shops in the village are hoping this extended time limit will encourage visitors to stay longer.  There is still some paperwork to be completed before this is officially enforced but hopefully it will be a matter of weeks rather than months… this space!
